Darby Baronet Mann | Member of The Thirty

Marketing Director, Business Development Coordinator
MFB Firm/MFB Title Solutions

What is your favorite thing about being an HBA member?

Getting to know all the other members and seeing their different styles in the industry.

What has been your favorite project at your company?

MFB Title Solutions has been oil, gas, and title firm since inception. Most recently, I have had the opportunity of overseeing the acquisition of The Louisiana Family Law Firm. Our business now encompasses all aspects of family law, in addition to our previous practice areas.

When you sit down at a bar, what are you ordering?

Hmm… this is a hard one because my drink order is mood driven but I’ll say my go to drink is most often a gin and tonic.

What is your favorite HBA|GBR event? Why?

The parade of homes is always a great time! I remember as a young girl going with my mom and grandmother. Everything has come full circle because this year I got to work the parade. I most enjoy meeting and supporting the builders, designers, and industry as a whole.

What was your first job?

My first real job was working for the Secretary of State in the elections department under Sherri Hadskey, who currently serves as elections commissioner. I was fortunate to be a part of the early voting process and even the tallying of votes on election night.

What is one industry-related thing you learned in the past month?

Marketing a law firm is like planting a garden. You must understand the soil and find the sun and rain. A law firm can be multidimensional yet still relate to its individual clients. I have a learned that marketing particular attorneys and practices is as challenging as predicting the weather.

In your opinion, what is the most important innovation in the industry in the last 5 years?

From my perspective, the age of covid has really forced the legal industry into the technology age. While other industries had already begun their transition those in the legal profession had not which has been both a positive and a negative.

What are three words that describe you?

Charismatic, kind-hearted, and loyal.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Whatever you do, big or small, give it 100%

If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?

That’s a difficult question but going along with the theme here, probably, Barbara Corcoran. First because I get to live in upscale New York for a day; secondly, I get to see what it is like to market million-dollar listings, and of course, meet all different types of shark tank business owners.
