What is your favorite thing about being an HBA member?

I appreciate the sense of community. It has been great to meet so many industry peers that share the same passion for what they do. It is our goal to always better our designs and systems so it is great to be able to have those connections to bounce ideas off each other.

What has been your favorite project at your company?

We are currently working on several great projects but my favorite project is always the next one.  It is an opportunity to learn from past projects, whether successes or missed opportunities and create something beautiful that we can be proud of.

When you sit down at a bar, what are you ordering?

Depends on the setting! Tiki Bar? Maybe a Mai Tai or Singapore Sling. But the usual go-to is an Old Fashioned with a Luxardo Cherry.

What is your favorite HBA|GBR event? Why?

The whole team has a great time at the VIP Tastemakers Tour. It’s a fun opportunity for the company to really experience what they have worked so hard on. It’s also a great event to meet others in the industry.

What was your first job?

My first real job was Fry Cook/Cashier at Raising Canes when I was 15.

What is one industry-related thing you learned in the past month?

Chris Van Pelt recently told me about new glass and mirror products that I’m trying to get my hands on so we can put these new products in our designs.

In your opinion, what is the most important innovation in the industry in the last 5 years?

Although it’s been around longer than 5 years, Social Media has created this unbelievable platform for people to connect to our designs from all over the country. The algorithms are constantly evolving to help us reach new audiences. It also creates the ability for our team to access inspiration from people and places we never would’ve known about otherwise.  The constant innovation of 3D modeling software and rendering abilities is also very helpful.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Although it can be tough to live by at times, “don’t be afraid to take risks” is applicable in every aspect of life. I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for taking leaps of faith.

If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

A lot of my family and friends are big Formula 1 fans so I think it would be fun to try out the lifestyle of an F1 driver for a day.

Tell us about your family?

It’s just me, my wife and our dog. My parents still live in Baton Rouge as well.
