What is your favorite thing about being an HBA member?

The idea of being able to brainstorm and connect with other members of the homebuilding industry.

What has been your favorite project at your company?

It is difficult to pinpoint. Lately we have been working on some very interesting projects that all have their own unique and fun aspects to them.

When you sit down at a bar, what are you ordering?

An Old Fashioned.

What is your favorite HBA|GBR event? Why?

The Parade of Homes because I love seeing other builder’s and vendor’s innovation and skills in action.

What was your first job?

I interned for a local Baton Rouge builder, Daryl May.

What is one industry-related thing you learned in the past month?

I’ve recently worked with a customer to install an in-home sauna. It was interesting and exciting to learn the ins and outs of the intricate details that are behind those cedar walls.

In your opinion, what is the most important innovation in the industry in the last 5 years?

The 3-D Computer-Aided Design. This allows customers to stop imagining and start visualizing their homes before the first piece of dirt is turned. It even goes to the extent of showing customers how the sun will cast shadows on their future home and/or pool throughout the day. 

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Luck comes from hard work. 

Three words that best describe you:

Persistent. Detailed. Fair.

If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

Elon Musk. He is such an independent thinker  and continues to push the envelope by always thinking outside of the box.

I have been married to my wife Jessica for eight years and we have two beautiful daughters – Carysn, 3 and Reagan, 1.
