25% of New Single-Family Homes are Infills or Teardowns

According to the latest Annual Builder Practices Survey (ABPS), one in four new single-family detached homes were built in established neighborhoods in 2020. Homes built on infill lots constituted 18.6% of new homes, while homes built after tearing down an existing building constituted 6.4% of new homes.

Council Approves EBR Permitting Update

EBR Metropolitan Council unanimously approved the proposed ordinance increasing commercial and residential plan review and permit fees effective January 1, 2022.

During the public hearing/meeting, Karen Zito, HBA|GBR President and CEO and Larry Bankston, Growth Coalition, praised the progress made by the council and administration. Councilmember Dwight Hudson continued the sentiment and asked Rachael Lambert, Director of Development, to be acknowledged for her diligence in working with industry.
