State-Level GDP in the First Quarter of 2021

Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased in all 50 states and the District of Columbia in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the last quarter of 2020. Ascension Parish Impact Fees

In June of 2021, Ascension Parish Council approved an increase on transportation impact fees. The fee was adopted in 2016. Council increased the fees for all development on the East Bank.

  • Delay implementation of the 80% collection rate until December 31, 2021;
  • Increasing to 90% on December 31, 2022; and
  • Increasing to 100% on December 31, 2023.

The fee increase will begin January 1, 2022. HBA GBR opposed the increase transportation fee and the impact on housing affordability, supply, and choice, but if it was raised, agreed to the six month delay and January 1, 2022, implementation date with gradual increases to 100%.
