House Passes Infrastructure Bill

The House late last night passed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill approved by the Senate and President Biden will sign the measure into law shortly. The vote was 228-2-6, with 13 Republicans joining a majority of Democrats to get the measure across the finish line. Six Democrats voted against it.

Job Gains Accelerate in October

Job gains picked up in October after two consecutive months of a slowdown. Total payroll employment rose by 531,000 and the unemployment rate dropped to 4.6% in October. Construction industry employment (both residential and non-residential) totaled 7.5 million, with 44,000 construction jobs added in October.
